Histopathological studies

In our center, a routine histopathological examination of all types of organs and tissues is carried out in fully automated laboratory conditions. For this, first of all, identification of tissue samples sent for examination is provided by means of an individual bar-code. Then, the experts examine the samples in a general way and establish the changed tissue areas; samples are taken from this area according to standard protocols. These samples are passed through various types of devices of the German brand Leica and micro preparations are made from them. Our pathologists evaluate these samples under a microscope and prepare a final report. In controversial cases, our doctors examine the sample together at a special microscope having several head components allowing conducting the examination simultaneously by 5 doctors. The terms and report formats used in our conclusions are based on international nomenclature and standard protocols.

Cytopathological studies

In addition to samples of tissues and organs of various sizes, our center successfully conducts studies of biological fluids, smears obtained from various areas, as well as needle aspiration biopsies. In addition to traditional conventional smears, the center’s cytopathology division also uses sophisticated research methods such as cellspin, fluid-based cytology, cell block, cytochemistry and immunocytochemistry. These methods are aimed at obtaining the most reliable results with a limited amount of biological material, sometimes when using these methods the collection of large invasive biopsies is not required.

Histochemical studies

A histochemical study, which plays an exceptional role in the diagnosis of a number of diseases of the liver, kidneys, skin and digestive system, as well as a number of systemic diseases, such as amyloidosis, is one of the auxiliary methods used in our center. We offer about 20 different types of histochemical determinants.

Immunohistochemical studies

This method, which plays an important role in the diagnosis of cancer and is mainly used to determine the source, stage and aggressiveness of tumors, is being applied in our center with high accuracy. A faster and more accurate diagnosis of many diseases has become possible in our center, which has more than 100 immune determinants.

Intra-operative emergency consultation (frozen section)

An emergency consultation service operates in our center to answer some questions of surgeons that arise during the operation. Using this method, within 15-25 minutes you can get an initial vision of the nature of the sample sent and continue the operation in accordance with this conclusion.

Re-examination of finished micro preparations and blocks

Along with the initial studies conducted at our center, our specialists also re-examine the biopsy samples examined at other center and prepare pathological findings in accordance with standard protocols.
